The success of Syahid Albarkah, a tomato grower in the village of Tugumukti, the subdistrict of Lembang, the county of Bandung, is suitable to be taken as an example. Said runs a 30 ha plantation―10 ha of which is his own―where he grows tomatoes along with chilli and beans for 27 years. His perseverance was not in vain. In 2000, Said has succeeded in pioneering the trading up to the city of Batam, Riau Archipelago. Now, the man who was born in Bandung, March. 5th, 1960, routinely supplies 30 tons of tomato per week. He also routinely sells 10 tons per day to Cibitung market, the county of Bekasi. (Andretha Helmina)
